Kempinski Hotel Beijing Lufthansa Center
Hotel Overview
HistoryKempinski Hotel Beijing Lufthansa Center opened in 1992 and instantly
became a landmark in China’s capital city with facilities and services of
extraordinary scope.
The center pioneered the concept of a fully integrated business complex with
offices, deluxe serviced apartments, showrooms, luxury hotel and international
shopping plaza, all under one roof.
The “Grand Opening” brought together leaders and celebrities from the
political, diplomatic, art and business communities under the auspices of the
Mayor of Beijing and the German Ambassador.
Nestled in the heart of the Beijing Lufthansa Center, Kempinski Hotel Beijing
offered a new standard of accommodation with 526 handsomely appointed guestrooms
and suites, extensive meeting space and vibrant recreational facilities. The
hotel immediately established a strong reputation for the quality and variety of
its restaurants from Beijing’s premier microbrewery, Paulaner Brauhaus to Cafe
Kranzler, an authentic Austrian eatery and Symphony, the exclusive dining room
dedicated to international cuisine.
Within one year, leading international companies established their offices or
regional headquarters at the Beijing Lufthansa Center. Such companies included
Lufthansa Airlines, West-LB, Sinotech and Richmers-Linie. Hotel is proud to
still count them as their tenants to this day, a sure sign that the Beijing
Lufthansa Center still offers an unrivalled business environment.
Leading political leaders enjoy Kempinski’s hospitality during their
official visits to Beijing. German Chancellors Kohl and Schroeder, Prime
Minister Jean Cretien of Canada, His Royal Highness the King of Spain, Juan
Carlos, the British Prime Minister, Tony Blair, and most recently German
President Johannes Rau and the President of Ireland, Mrs. Mary McAleese are
amongst the happy few who enjoyed the level of attention associated with
Kempinski’s tradition of excellence. Over the years, our hotel also welcomed
Chinese and international artists, movie stars and singers who wanted to
experience Beijing’s premier address.
Embracing the new millennium, the complex offers high-speed broadband
services in guestrooms, banquet rooms, residence apartments and offices. With
guestrooms renovation completed in 2002, the complex is conducting extensive
renovation in the apartment building, offering contemporary decor and stylish
furnishing and appliances. It is truly an ideal residence for international
business executives who can benefit from all the services available within the
complex at their fingertips.
