Park Hyatt Goa Resort and Spa

Featuring a unique village concept and one of the most extensive Spa
facilities in the subcontinent, Park Hyatt Goa Resort and Spa creates the
magic of a luxury Boutique Hotel while having the amenities and vibrant
attractions of a Resort. A sanctuary for the discerning traveler it is also a
Venue for meetings and conferences, spectacular events, creative weddings and
social gathering.
Designed by famed Resort architect Simeon Halstead and landscape designer
Peter Imrik of Napa, California the Resort brilliantly blends elegance with
drama. The eminent lighting designer Babu Shankar has used theatrical lighting
effects to make the property come alive.
With its open architecture giving a feel of the outdoors, uniquely designed
Rooms and Suites with Spa Style Bathrooms and distinctive ambience it respects
and enhances Goa’s unique tropical environment and sets the precedent for
quality and innovative design for the tourism industry in India.
Location
The Resort is located in Goa, the former Portuguese enclave which has enjoed
a prominent place in the traveller;s lexicon. Located on the South-west of
India, Goa is easilly reached by a short flight from India;s financial capital,
Mumbai.
The Resort faces west and covers an area of approx. 10 hectares. There is an
extensive beachfront of approx. 300 meters of fine white sand of the highest
quality. Set back from the beach are rolling sand dunes giving the site an
unusual varied topography with a series of natural “lagoons” in the wet
monsoon season. Surrounding the Resort property is agricultural land with rice
paddies of the rural village of Utorda creating a self-contained environment for
the Resort, with an access road bisecting the village.
The Resort is conceptualized as an Indo-Portuguese village. Like an old
village, it has been developed radially from a central shopping “spine” and
town centre plaza, to grow into a lively picturesque township full of fragrant
plant filled courtyards and gardens, linked by Venice-like canals, bridges and
cobbled streets. With such organic growth, the village is divided into
“neighborhoods” which creates a series of individual guestroom clusters
within the resort, slightly differently themed in architecture and landscape.
