History

The Bassi Fort is a testament to the glorious history of the Chundawat clan. It was built in the 16th century by Thakur Jaimal of the Sisodia dynasty, cousin of Maharana Pratap, founder of the Bassi principality. Six of the ancestors of Rawat Sahib Kesri Singh Ji, present head of the Bassi Chundawat family laid down their lives defending Mewar and the famous Chittogarh fort. The 16th century home of the Moewar nobility has been painstakingly restored, preserving its old world charm, décor and grandeur while enhancing comfort with modern amenities.
