Soneva Gili is situated in the Male' Atoll, one of 19 atolls that stretch over 800 km through the Indian Ocean and is one of the 1,190 islands which are the Maldives.

Just 15 minute speed boat journey from Male, the capital of the Republic of Maldives, Soneva Gili is easily accessible by speedboat from the International Airport.

The Water Villa Suites and Residences have all the luxuries found in most exclusive resorts. However, while offering all these facilities, the utmost care has been given to make the Resort environmentally-friendly and to reflect the harmony of life by the water's edge. Thus, the cantilevered sun deck sits just above the water level, dining in ones Villa is a panoramic dream, the luxurious amenities are all thoughtfully placed in the drawer of the wooden desk, the Mini Bar, personal Safe, and quadraphonic hi-fi are concealed with the television and VCD in a hand built wooden cabinet.

Three jetties stretch out from the island and along each jetty you will find Soneva Gili Villa Suites and Soneva Gili Residences. Each Suite and Residence has been built and designed with the utmost attention to detail to ensure the total comfort of guests.

The 29 Soneva Gili Villa Suites, 8 Soneva Gili Residences and 7 Soneva Gili Crusoe Residences are located in such a way that more than twenty meters separates one from the next, affording each total privacy. A favourite pastime is to lie on the cantilevered sun deck or the roof sun deck and just gaze off into the horizon or marvel at the night sky.

The Seven Crusoe Residences stand side by side in the lagoon majestically looking out beyond the coral reef to the open sea. Each has its own private rowing boat for traveling between the residence and the jetty.

The Villas and the Residences are spacious with wooden floors. The Bathrooms have been designed with a separate Shower accessed along an open-Air walkway, along its own private water garden.

Soneva Gili Residence 250 m2: 8 Soneva Gili Residences secluded for total privacy, with King sized Bed 3 Residences (Jetty One) Nos. 15-17: All have uninterrupted views out over the sea and excellent sunrise views. 3 Residences (Jetty Two) Nos. 32-34: 32 has uninterrupted sea view and excellent sunrise views. 33 & 34 face over the lagoon with Paradise Island in the distance. In villa Jacuzzis for all three as of mid-July 2004. 2 Residences (Jetty Three) Nos. 38-39: Face out to sea & he reef (deeper water - boats may pass). Both feature sunset views from all areas of the Residence.

Presidential Suite: It comprises 5 separate buildings which house two master bedrooms, 4 guests rooms, private spa with steam room, sauna, massage pavilion and air-conditioned gym. There are two Mr. Fridays (Personal Butlers) on call at all times - with private quarters - and two boats for the resident's personal use. For the fun at heart there is a waterslide entering the lagoon from the top deck. The accommodation measures one thousand square meters overall, making it one of the largest Presidential Suites anywhere. The complex include also a kitchen, wine cellar, concealed entertainment center and an amazing central living area. The entire structure is situated in the most stunning part of the islands lagoon, offering unsurpassed privacy. The Presidential Suite is constructed approximately 500 meters from the beach or 300 meters from the closest villa.
