There was also a stable beneath this house in those times, but when the owners left, the donkey was also sold. The entrance is stone paved and there is a built-in wardrobe on the left.

On the wall right behind the bed, there hangs a “Suzani”, a very fine and precious piece of the collection. In the old times women used to hang these to decorate their homes and tents. This is why they embroidered the material with thread, putting in their dreams, their hopes and their love. There’s a great window in the room from where you can see the tortoise garden and the walnut tree garden. Even before you step out, the scenery fills the room and then your soul and makes you happy. In the past, the slope on which the hotel stands used to be a fortress. This is why, this room which is at the end of this unit has been named the Castle Cave. You can sit on the sofa at the entrance of the room and from the window you can watch the sunset, which paints the sky with hues of red just like a picture painted by nature. Since we did not change the natural structure of the room during restoration work, the door of the entrance is rather low just like a small tunnel in an underground city. So, if you are a tall person, they suggest that you bend a little as you enter the room

Oriental Cave

From the terrace, when you go down the stairs to the street below, there’s a rock carved cave suite on the right. In front of the cave room, there’s a huge bellows. This bellows belonged to Uncle Hasan, the ormer landlord of the house. Uncle Hasan used to whet iron utensils on the rock on the side.

The Oriental Cave is a true family room. If you like you can stay there with your children. The decoration and function of the room is very suitable for this purpose. The room is entirely of rock and has a history of 250 years. It was carved with patience, using pointed iron chisels. During the restoration of the room, they used the same tools, but they did this without spoiling the architectural structure. After the owners left these chambers, it had become filled with water and mud, and the rocks had to be cleaned thoroughly. In the Oriental Cave, and right across the bedroom section, and in front of the window, there’s a slightly elevated section that we call an Oriental Chamber. The floor of this part made entirely of wood, is decorated with precious “Cicims” and “Sumaks”. The window opens out to the tortoise garden and the walnut tree. You see colorful roses in the summer and the white snow in the winter. In the room, there are also very special kilims, tent decorations and some works of ceramic artisans.

Gobekli Oda

It’s the first room on the right side of the street. The center unit, Göbek in Turkish, of the wooden ceiling is antique. It has been fashioned with meticulous workmanship in Kayseri. This is why this room bears this name. All the pieces used in the decoration of this room are very precious items of our collection.

As you sip a cup of coffee in the Göbekli Room, you may listen to the songs Cappadocia has been singing since centuries.

In the meantime, if you wish to watch the TV, don’t be surprised by the furniture beneath the apparatus. They used such extraordinary solutions all over the hotel, just to get you excited. From your window, you may enjoy the sight of old stone houses of Uchisar like in a dream, with a glass of wine in your hand. And if you happen to get up early, you may see camels passing through the street.

Deluxe Suites

Tafana Cave Suite

This is another one of our special cave suites. Tafana stands for Kitchen in local Turkish. There’s a pit in the floor, called Tandir, which was used as a sort of cooking oven. It follows that the landlord used this area as a kitchen in the past. During the restoration work, they didn’t touch this pit nor the blackness on the ceiling caused by the use of this oven. On the contrary, they did the best to preserve it as such. Aunt Hanim, the owner of this cave house used to bake bread and cook dishes in earthenware pots in this Tandir. At the moment they are cooking the same traditional dishes in the restaurant of the hotel to please you, the guests.

In this suite there’s a loving room with a great window from where you can view the Wonderful Love Valley. You may sit on the sofa, and while you sip your coffee you may watch the scenery and at the same time admire the 18th century Konya rug on the wall, a rare item of the collection.

Tandirli Cave Suite

This is another of the cave suites. It used to be a kitchen in the past. The family who lived here in the past used this area not only as a kitchen but also as a place to keep warm. They also pressed their grapes to obtain grape juice, and then they boiled this grape juice on the fire to produce molasses. In this multi-purpose kitchen there was a “Tandir”, a grape pressing apparatus, and a weaving loom. During the restoration, they were obliged to cover the are where there was the weaving loom. But the Tandir and the press have been kept as they are.

The suite consists of a living room, a bedroom, a bathroom and an oriental unit. You may relax on the sofa of the living room to watch Cappadocia, the land of dreams. The rugs used for the decoration of the room are 100 year old Karap?nar hand-made rugs. Also on display are Suzani covers and 80 year old bridal sheets, that keep their original color and texture as though they were brand new. The area that we designed as the Oriental chamber is the area that was used as a grape pressing unit. The spinning wheel in the room belonged to the old landlord

The upper floor was used as the living quarter while the lower floor was used to store grapes and other food for the winter. They did not touch these units during the restoration.

The tent pieces and horse equipment in this room are samples of valuable handcraft. You may start dreaming as you watch the magnificent view of Cappadocia and as you look at the dancing rocks, you will feel as though you were part of this texture

Naile Hanim Cave Suite

Escape Family Cave Suite

This rock cave suite is composed of a bedroom, a kid’s room, a living room and a large bathroom. The room is connected to a secret tunnel and this is why it has been given the name of Escape Room. In a corner of the bedroom there is a tunnel to climb out through. People living here in ancient times used to climb through this place during times of danger to save themselves and their families, perhaps from Byzantine soldiers, who knows?

The Byzantine column used as the head rest of the bed is a very strange part of the decoration. The quilts have been specially prepared. The rugs on the floor are Tasp?nar rugs and kilims. On the walls, there are kilim baby sacks and ceramic plates. The old wooden juicer gives the room a particular air.

The old trunks and embroidery work are more than a 100years old. In the kid’s room there’s a special children’s wardrobe and local toys.
