Pamukkale is established on a hillitop 22
km, to the north of the city of Denizli and takes its name (which
means "cotton castle" in Turkish) from its structure in
the form of white-coloures terraces produced by its hot and
healing calcium - bearing waters. Pamukkale, which from the past
to the present day been known as a health center, is intermingled
with the ancient Roman city of Herapolis.

to the remains of Herapolis.
