The Hassler Rooftop Restaurant:
At the Hassler Rooftop Restaurant one can savour the superb panorama of Renaissance Rome
that makes breakfast, lunch or dinner breath-taking and enchanting. The Rooftop Restaurant is
the first panoramic restaurant ever built in Rome. Occupying one of the highest spots in the
city center, this intimate restaurant with a soft-toned Venetian decor puts all of Rome at
one's feet. Guests enjoy discovering each and every sight, possibly most of the majestic
Piazza di Spagna with its world-famous Spanish Steps. To the left one
can see the monument to Vittorio Emanuele, dedicated to the unknown soldier, and known as
"the wedding cake monument" for its shape. The twin domes of the Trinità dei Monti
Church dominate the view, other domes of various Roman Renaissance churches lead one's eyes
to St. Peter's Dome on the horizon. Its magnificent silhouettes lit by the first
morning-sun rays, which sets behind it at sundown. Farther to the left, the typical white
Pantheon dome and the Sant'Agnese Church by Borromini on the famed Piazza Navona are
landmarks to be noted - as well as many Roman "palazzos". The menu at the Rooftop
Restaurant adds even more fascination to lunch, dinner or to the Sunday brunch, at this
panoramic site. Our renowned Chef Fernando Pislor adds a special touch to the traditional
Italian cuisine, strengthening the Mediterranean flavor. He makes extensive use of the daily
fresh products that the Roman markets offer. For banquets and other special events,
personalised menus are prepared according to the wishes of the client. The Hassler has joined
many culinary festivals around the world: the Ritz in Paris and the Ritz Carlton in Boston, MA;
the Royal Garden in Hong Kong, the Imperial in Tokyo, the Lanes borough in London, the
Continental in Oslo and the Maksoud Plaza in Sao Paulo to mention few of them. The music played
by a pianist creates a special atmosphere in the Rooftop Restaurant during dinner, which is
served daily from 7.30 to 10.30 p.m. Luncheon hours are from 12.30 to 2.30 p.m., breakfast from
7 to 11 a.m. Jacket and tie are required for dinner only. The restaurant accommodates up to 70
people.
