Hotel Overview
The Grand Hotel Wien is famous for being at the very hub of Viennese

HistoryThe legendary Grand Hotel on Vienna's Ringstrasse, was built in the
1860's according to the plans of Karl Tietz, one of the most celebrated
architects of his time. The architectural style of this period takes its name
from the famous boulevard "Ringstrasse" itself. The era was noted for the charm
and elegance of the "K & K" (Imperial and Royal) Monarchy and by a city dancing
to the music of the Strauss family.
Location
The Grand Hotel Wien is ideally located on Kärntner Ring, only a
stroll away from the Vienna State Opera, the famous Kärntner Straße and the
grandeur of St. Stephen's Cathedral.All major highlights and shopping areas
within walking distance.
Rooms
Superior Rooms:
The 46 double and 42 twin Superior Rooms
measure between 30 and 35 square metres and feature all the standard amenities.
All Superior Rooms have a view to the inner courtyard. They are equipped with
two telephones. One is directly at your bedside and the other one on the writing
desk. With the state-of-the-art telephone system you can command practically the
whole room from your bedside.
Deluxe Rooms:
The 31 double and 4 twin Deluxe Rooms measure between 35 and 45 square metres
and are elegantly furnished in green and yellow.
They are equipped with two telephones. One is directly at your bedside and
the other one on the writing desk. With the state-of-the-art telephone system
you can command practically the whole room from your bedside;
The marble bathrooms are furnished in two colours: beige and brownish red.
They are equipped with two washbasins, an additional telephone and floor heating
(heated mirror, hairdryer, radio).
Exclucive Rooms:
The 25 double and 26 twin Exclusive Rooms measure approximately 45 square
metres.
The walls and floors are decorated in soft green colours, which give the
rooms a very relaxing atmosphere.
With the state-of-the-art telephone system you can command practically the
whole room from your bedside by utilizing the touch screen or the telephone. (for
example, the television and radio can be turned on or off, as well as the lights;
the temperature may be individually chosen, and the 'Do Not Disturb' sign can be
turned on by just touching the screen of the telephone.)
Junior Suites:
The Junior Suites are 50 square metres and are therefore more roomy than the
Exclusive Rooms.
They are additionally furnished with a comfortable couch. The rest of the
furnishing corresponds with the Exclusive Rooms and is decorated in a soft green
colour.
Executive Suites:
The three double Executive Suites are located on the 6th floor, each with its
own terrace.
Measuring approximately 70 square metres, the rooms are quite spacious and
furnished in a beautiful light green.
The rooms feature an ante-room, a separate walk-in wardrobe and a luxurious
bathroom with a bathtub and separate shower.
Senior Suites:
The three double and one twin Senior Suites and one Senior Suite of our hotel
are about 100 square metres in size and the predominant colour is a soft
apricot.
The dining room, which is also suitable as a conference room, is separated
from the living room with pillars.
The living rooms, as well as the bedroom, are equipped with TV sets and of
course a VCR and a CD player are available. Through a separate wardrobe one
enters the elegant and truly comfortable bathroom. A fully equipped kitchenette
and a guest toilet add to the guest’s comfort.
Deluxe Suites:
The three luxurious Deluxe Suites are furnished mainly in soft beige tones
and offer ultimate comfort.
An open fire-place in the living room and a whirlpool in the bathroom offer
adequate opportunity for relaxation. A fully equipped kitchen, a separate
wardrobe and a guest toilet are also at the guest’s convenience.
The adjacent Exclusive Room may be connected to the Deluxe Suite. The Deluxe
Suite is famous tenor Luciano Pavarotti’s favourite suite at the Grand Hotel
Wien
Presidntial Suites:
With 220 square metres the Presidential Suite is the largest Suite of the
Grand Hotel Wien.
Through a large ante-room one comes directly into the living room and from
there into the elegant dining room and the adjacent library.
On the other side, there is a grand bedroom and a very luxurious marbled
bathroom with a whirlpool.
UN Secretary Kofi Annan and Prince Takamado of Japan were accommodated in the
special Suite.
In addition there is a kitchen where our staff can prepare food, for guests
wishing to entertain in their suite.
There is a connecting door to a Junior Suite, which gives the Presidential
Suite two bedrooms and measures a total of 280 square metres.

Le Giel Gourmet Restaurant
Since the opening of the Grand Hotel Wien the doors of the restaurant
"Le Ciel" have been wide open for those who enjoy culinary delights. Siegfried
Pucher, Food & Beverage Director of all restaurants and bars of the hotel, and
his team make every effort to ensure that this star in the sky of the Austrian
culinary heaven continues to rise and for the last 10 years they have maintained
the highest levels of quality. Newcomers such as the young and ambitious Sous-Chef
Jacqueline Pfeiffer, in charge of cuisine since 2003, bring creative verve to
the French orientated culinary art.
The Grand Cafe Restaurant
Grand Café will spoil you with Viennese specialities and traditional
home-made Austrian pastries, as well as international dishes. On Saturdays,
Sundays and Holidays a champagne breakfast will be served.
The Grand Café also features our famous Guglhupf, a special breakfast
sponge cake, prepared according to our own secret recipe. This can also be taken
home in a decorative gift package, or posted throughout the world as a special
gift. It is available in two sizes.
Unkai Japanese Restaurant
The Japanese restaurant Unkai offers a fascinating variety of japanese
specialities. Sushi and Sashimi are served perfectly in the traditional manner,
and Teppanyaki dishes are perpared in front of guests. These dishes have been
awarded 'two toques' by leading restaurant guide 'Gault Milau' and they have
also received the 'Trophee Gourmet' for ethnic cuisine.
Lobby Bar Rosengarten
The Lobby Lounge features a pianist during the evening and has become a
popular meeting place for the Viennese as well as international guests.
Schanigarten Outdoor Terrace
During the summer season the adjacent Schanigarten, our elegant outdoor
terrace, offers all kinds of refreshments, and features a variety of Viennese
specialities.
Kavalierbar Cocktail Bar
The Kavalierbar is a perfect place for anyone who loves exquisite cocktails.
The bartenders invite you to enjoy your favourite cocktail in a select
