Hotel Overview
Those wanting a relaxing winter or summer holiday a high standard of

the smallest five-star hotel in this holiday paradise at an altitude of 1,450
metres. It is ranked among a worldwide hotel elite and is a member of the
renowned Relais & Chateaux organization, since 1976.
Winter holidays at the Post: In the company of experienced
guides, ascend to the mountains when they are thick with snow. Enjoy
magnificent downhill skiing through landscapes of virgin snow or on the world
famous pistes. Cross-country skiing, ice-skating, curling and sleigh rides
round off the winter activities.
Summer holidays at the Post: Embark on long or short hikes with the
hotel's mountain guide. High up in the mountains amid the blossoming summer
meadows, experience the popular mountain breakfast; or rest and relax in the
hotel's Ebra - Park. In addition, the Post offers its summer guests a
varied and attractive programme to organise their own individual leisure time.
HistoryThe first building to stand on the site of the present Post Inn
dated back to around 1650. In 1825, the Arlberg pass road was constructed. In
1856, the horse track over the Flexen was widened. In 1884, the Arberg railway
was opened and in 1895, work started on the new Flexen pass road, which opened
two years later. The road to Lech was completed in 1900 and extended as far as
Warth from 1902 to 1908, the opening ceremony was held on 2nd October 1909.
The first Royal Postal service was opened on 31st May 1871. Lech was one of
the first Alpine villages to have a telephone connection, and on 22nd October
1924 electric light shone in some of the houses.

»Ebra« was the name of a small farm on the hill behind the Post and today it
is a park and garden extension to indoor swimming pool.
A magnificent botanical garden has been created in the »Ebra« park, a flowering
paradise with indigenous flowers, shrubs and woods, paths between secluded lawns
and, the jewel in the crown, a tea room where in the afternoons guests meet
informally and get to know each other.
And if you put your nose closer to the screen, you might just smell the
wonderfully scented alpine flora.
Food & Beverages
Come into one of four restaurants and give your taste-buds a real treat - in
the Post-Café for lunch, for coffee and cake with famous home-made strudels in
the Emo lounge or in the really cosy ambience of 300-year-old Jäger lounge
which it is always reserved for non-smoking guests. In the bright and friendly
atmosphere of the Zirbel lounge you will find half-board guests having dinner,
and the bar always has been and always will be a popular meeting place from
après-ski to midnight
Post restante in cellar delicacies from the best wine-growing areas in the
world. As a member of the Confrerie des Chevaliers du Tastevin and the Club de
la Sommellerie it is duty to offer you choice wines. Experts describe cellar as
a reasure chest - in vino veritas!
