Food & Beverages

Von Plessen was the name of the first owner of the historical building now housing the Phoenix Copenhagen. The Von Plessen family has also owned several Danish manors and castles. A meal in Restaurant Von Plessen is a delightful culinary experience. The recipes all consist of the best meat, fowl or fish the market offers. Fresh vegetables and salads and seducing desserts. The food is accompanied by the well-known traditional Danish beer or lovely wines from the well-assorted and wide-ranging wine menu. You will find the restaurant in the hotel's basement; in large and beautiful rooms that reveal the age of the historical building, despite the sweeping renovation. The decor, tables and chairs are still closely connected with the manor style. This is where you will enjoy lovely meals in fabulous surroundings! Large tables, seating up to 25 persons, is also a possibility in Restaurant Von Plessen. The total seating capacity is 150.

The name dates back to the Scotchman, William Murdoch, who established the first restaurant in the building more than 150 years ago. And the pub has, in truth, found its inspiration in the style of the English and Scottish pubs, but the British inspiration has been combined with truly Danish notions like cosiness and a somewhat lighter interior decoration. Besides the splendid beer, the fine whisky and other excellent beverages, Murdoch's Books & Ale also serves a wonderful lunch and a large number of light meals and sandwiches all day Murdoch's is the perfect setting for a quiet lunch or for a fun night out on the town. Here and there you will find copies of books in the pub, but it is very unlikely that you will find the time to read any of them! See you at Murdoch's! Opening hours are 12:00 to 01:00 Sundays 12:00 to 22.30 (the kitchen closes at 21.30)
