Constructed in 1929, the Palais de la Mediterranée became a legend over 75 years. A world of arts and gaming, of luxury and beauty, the Roaring Twenties. The monumental facade, the great Gaming Rooms. The Palais de la Mediterranée, in prime position on the Promenade des Anglais, boasts 188 Rooms and Suites, around a panoramic terrace looking over the Baie des Anges, a real oasis of coolness. All decorated in the Art-Deco style, they offer a blend of wood, textiles and simple lines, and all boast state-of-the-art equipment.



History

On January 1929, a large gathering of celebrities attended the Gala opening of the original Palais de la Mediterranee on the original Promenande des Anglais, facing the sea. Nearly six hundred people accepted the invitation of the American billionaires Franc and Florence Gould, already the "inventors" of Juan les Pins, to whom they owe this immense art deco building.

Food & Beverages

At Padouk, the cuisine has Mediterranean flavors, emphasizing seasonal products, seafood and fruits and vegetables of the region. Chef employs the cuisine of his heritage, remembering his grandmother's Cooking and applying contemporary touches. The decor of Le Padouk combines dark exotic woods, modern furniture in warm orange and red hues. Padouk, a precious wood used for bows of ships, is the primary material used on the Restaurant's walls. The mahogany parquet floor shows to advantage the green, blue and orange coloured mosaic accents on the floor of the Restaurant. The general atmosphere is very warm, welcoming and relaxing. During sunny days, the Restaurant's terrace, landscaped with mandarin trees and lavender, offers a spectacular panoramic view on the Baie des Anges, the only one of this kind on the Côte d'Azur.
