The Mare Monte Beach Hotel is situated directly on the broadest part of the fine sandy beach of the Almiros bay, just a 10 min walk from the village of Georgioupolis, on the north coast of the island of Crete, Greece.
The surroundings of Georgioupolis are known for their variety in landscape and their natural beauty. There are many attractions for the nature lover reaching from the steep rocks of the White Mountains to the golden beach of Georgioupolis. Picturesque villages in the mountains, interesting conversation in the nearby village or small excursions to Kournas, the only fresh-water lake of Crete (2km away) are only some of the impressive localities that are in close vicinity of the Hotel. Bigger cities like Chania and Rethymno are 35 km and 20 km away respectively. Both cities are perfect places for city-explorers that are easily reached by bus or taxi.
