Starting from the Archaeological Museum, head west on Korai and Dedalou streets, two vibrant streets full of shops, boutiques and some of the most unique café and ouzeri (traditional small restaurants serving finger food and local drinks) revealed before you. From the Lions Square up the Valide Mosque in Kornarou Square, the city demonstrates its traditional character and Cretan culture through a unique combination of tastes, aromas and historical monuments. 

FROM HERAKLION AIRPORT (HER) - NIKOS KAZANTZAKIS:
By car:

Coming out from the airport area, head right (west) towards the city centre where you meet Ikarou Avenue.
Continue straight ahead on Ikarou Avenue for about 4 km until you reach the Venetian Walls.
When the road no longer continues straight but only left or right turn left. Turn left towards the city center and after 10 meters turn right to Idomeneos Street.
After 150m Olive Green will reveal before you.

By taxi:

There are always available taxis at the airport. The charge should not exceed the 15€.

By bus:

Just outside the airport, opposite the arrivals area, you will find the city bus stop. The bus station in the city center of Heraklion where you should get off is the Liberty Square ("Eleftherias" square).

From there, follow the Idomeneos Street (on the left side of the stop) and after 150m you will see Olive Green right in front of you.

 FROM HERAKLION HARBOUR:
By car:

1.    At the traffic lights located just off the harbor, drive straight (north) the Eth. Antistasseos Avenue, until you reach traffic lights again.

2.    Turn right on Ikarou Avenue and follow that road until the very end of it.

3.    At the very end the Archaeological Museum will appear right in front of you.

4.    Turn left towards the city center and after 10 meters turn right to Idomeneos Street

5.    Follow Idomeneos Street for 150m and Olive Green will reveal before you.

By taxi:

Plenty of taxis are available in the harbor. The charge should not exceed the amount of 9€

On foot:

Olive Green in very close to Eleftherias Square which is not more than 20 minutes’ walk from the Harbour.

1.       As you leave the port, turn right, taking the coastal road until the first roundabout (Kountourioti  

      Square).

2.       Just across the street (next to the Venetian Shipyards) there are stairs leading to Epimenidou Street.

3.       Alternatively, to avoid the stairs, having stepped across the roundabout, just before the stairs, move

left with direction uphill to the Doukos Bofor Street.

4.      Turn right, walk on Epimenidou St. for 100 meters until you meet Idomeneos St. on the left.

5.      Turn left on Idomeneos St. and walk for 200 meters till you see Olive Green in front of you.

DRIVING FROM EASTERN CRETE (Agios Nikolaos, Ierapetra, Siteia):
1.       Drive towards Heraklion on the national road E-75.

2.       Approaching Heraklion take the first exit (to airport) to the city and turn left on the traffic lights.

3.       Drive straight ahead for 4klm all the way across Ikarou Avenue.

4.       At the very end the Archaeological Museum will appear right in front of you.

5.       Turn left towards the city center and after 10 meters turn right to Idomeneos Street

6.       Follow Idomeneos Street for 150m and Olive Green will reveal before you.

 DRIVING FROM WESTERN CRETE (Rethimnon, Chania):
1.    Drive towards Heraklion on the national road E-75.

2.    As you approach Heraklion, take the exit for the city through Thanasi Skordalou str.

3.    Continue on Thanasi Skordalou street and at the traffic lights turn left in Knossou Av.

4.    Continue straight ahead, over the bridge, on Dimokratias Av. towards the center of the city.

5.    Keep driving on Dimokratias Av. until you reach Eleftherias Sq.

6.    At the roundabout turn left towards the city center and after about 10 meters turn right in Idomeneos street.

7.    Follow Idomeneos Street for 150m and Olive Green will reveal before you.
