On the water's edge, just a five minute stroll from the town's museums, minarets and
fortresses, the Chios Chandris is also the best base for exploring further a field. And
on this island of contrasts, there is so much to discover: The walled mediaeval "mastic
villages", 11th century monasteries, "Homer's Rock", unspoiled beaches with
black or white sand, rugged mountains, the offshore islets of Psara and Inousses, plus the
Turkish coast, just an hour's boat trip away.
