Hotel Overview

At the beginning of this new Millennium and together with the progress of brand new technologies, the Hotel Rey Juan Carlos I, the most emblematic Hotel of the City of Barcelona is about to surprise us all. Not all the City Hotels can enjoy the immense privilege of being located next to a Park and even less of being immersed in an environment composed of a beautiful and well-kept romantic Garden created in the middle of the XX century. This is precisely one of the features which characterizes the Hotel.

 


History

 

 

In mid 1992 the Olympic Flame Arrow was fired to announce the Official inauguration of the Barcelona Olympic Games. At the same time, a white flag was created with the Five Stars and the Royal Crown of Our Majesties the King and the Queen of Spain, announcing, to the Five Continents, the Opening of the majestic Hotel Rey Juan Carlos I, which was the Official Hotel for 42 Heads of State and many of the highest authorities in the political, economical, cultural, artistic, sporting and social world. It was the beginning and a symbol of a new image for Barcelona. The enthusiasm of the people of Barcelona, and their generosity and hospitality were major factors in making the Barcelona Olympic Games a total success. Since then, in response to the great loyalty and support of our dear guests and friends, with the same enthusiasm and passion for hospitality, we have converted this majestic Hotel in one of the best worldwide Resort Complexes based within a City, the only within Barcelona. Our attention to the smallest detail in order to provide quality and perfection provides a complete and unique experience for the guests.

The 25,000 square metres of landscaped green space designed by J. Fontseré constitute the magnificent setting where the majestic and spectacular building of the Hotel rises.

The Hotel is situated 4 km from the Train Station, 16 km from the Airport and 5 minutes walking distance from the underground.
