Fryksas Hotell is a beautifully restored 16th century fabod (remote livestock farmhouse), located high up in the hills of Darlana and overlooking spectacular rural scenery.

This unique environment is complemented by an inviting atmosphere, superb gastronomic experiences and outstanding service.

There are more than 150 ancient timber buildings adding to the historic atmosphere of Fryksas.

For centuries, they have been used by farmers from the village of Banas, who moved their livestock here each summer to graze on the rich pastures.

The Hotel is perfectly situated between wilderness and farmland, in the centre of Sweden.

The town of Orsa is 12 km away, Mora 30 km and Stockholm 350 km.

Mora has an airport with scheduled flights.

Fryksas is the largest fabod in Sweden and has been lovingly restored to offer three types of accommodation:

• Modern fabod cottages
• Exclusive fabod suites with Jacuzzi and sauna.

All the luxurious rooms are individually decorated to the highest standard and have an en-suite bathroom and TV.

There is recreational centre just 1 km away in Gronklitt, with activities year-round, including:

• Europe's largest bear park with wolves and lynx
