Pest County covers an area of 6,394 km2 and has a
population of 1,077,300 and is located around the national capital of Budapest.
It has various natural and economic features: hills and plains, industrial,
agricultural and tourist zones.
The Danube, the Pilis mountains and the Borzsony are the mainly recreational
areas of the county, the villages south of Budapest cultivate fruit and
vegetables. Its industry is centred in Vac, Cegled and Nagykoros.
